S/S Trends: Pleats

If we can swirl around in romantic pleated skirts and dresses we must thank Japanese designer Issey Miyake, who in the 80’s experimented new ways to maintain the little fabric folds we now know as “pleats”. His first collection was launched in 1993 and was composed of beautiful pleated garments produced in polyester. Designers this season, influenced by Miyake have presented many pleated garments.
