Christmas Rehab at Cova

Christmas is finally over, the stress of having a bunch of relatives and friends constantly around you asking about your exams, carrier, significant others and every little detail of your life is gone in the end. It’s time to take a brake and dedicate an afternoon only to your “mental sanity”, and what better place than a chic and cozy tearoom to recover from Christmas Craziness?

Cova is a lovely ancient tearoom right in the fashionable corner of Milan, Via Montenapoleone, it may seem the classic place where tourists pay 15 euros for an espresso, but it is not. This place is an historic place where the “bella gente” of Milan come to enjoy a cup of tea and a sweet treat after an intense day of shopping.

Forget Ladurée macarons, Cova’s pastries are small bites of Heaven and you have not lived for real until you taste the legendary Panettone, the one and only original historic Milan sweet, the result of hundreds of years of traditions and cooking rituals from this city.

We all know cocktail bars and clubs are “the cool stuff” right now but everyone appreciate a calm and relaxing old style afternoon from now and then. So my suggestion in these jolly days is to forget lunches and parties for a day and spend a noon with some close friend in this cozy and retro atmosphere sipping a nice cup of tea.

We bought 4 Cova panettoni this year – 2 for us and 2 as gifts. It is our absolute favorite!
